Freelance reporter freed of charge
After two weeks on remand, freelance reporter, Roy Davis, left the courtroom today a freeman. Two weeks ago, Davis was convicted of wounding Joyceln Davis when he punched her on the face. Davis pleaded for leniency but the Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith ordered him to pay McClari two hundred dollars by next week Friday and he was further bound over to keep the peace in the sum of one thousand dollars for a period of two years. While Davis maintained his innocence during trial, McClari told the court that on April twenty-third, Davis punched her when she told him that he would not give him money because he is mean.
