Murder suspect also charged with rape
An accused murderer has been slapped with a new offence … a sexual assault allegedly committed two years ago. Details remain sketchy but apparently, twenty-six year old Edward Arthurs, the man charged with the murder of sixty-two year old security guard Oliver Blanco, has been positively identified by a Belize City woman as the man who raped her on July fourteenth 2004. As a result of that report, Arthurs has since been charged with rape. The matter has been adjourned until July fourteenth. Arthurs, meanwhile, remains on remand for the Blanco murder.
