Belize beats El Salvador, advances to Centro-Basket
The competition was stiff, but the Belize National Basketball Team triumphed as they defeated El Salvador last night in San Salvador. The score was ninety to eighty-one. The victory was the second in a two game series in which Belize took game one at home. This means that Belize has now secured a spot in the Centro-Basket tournament to be held in Panama beginning July fourth, where we will take on such top teams as Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica. The underdog Belize squad will be competing for one of three sub-regional spots in the Pan Am games to be held in 2007.
