“If we have to go to court we will go to court to enforce the outcome of that congress. We think that right is on our side. Right dah noh always di right thing da Belize but this time right is on the side of these men. I’m prepared, I didn’t make copies but I am prepared to give to you, because I really need to put the lie to what these men said yesterday, I am calling them a lawyer and I am telling them sue me for libel. Sue me for libel. You lied on a hundred and fifty stevedores when you said they also voted to extend. Your minutes, generated by your people, by your two stooges, ah noh like call people name but ah haftu. Your minutes said the vote was ten to one but for me all of it is water under the bridge because that meeting is not legal. We keep talking about the executive committee but let me ask you, what is the executive committee? Let them show me legally what is the executive committee according to the constitution anyway because they have their people all confused. One of the other reasons I am here is because I know for a lot of the members of this organization I am viewed as controversial and they throw a lot of stones and stuff, I can answer anybody’s question. I want to tell everybody this evening that I am going to step aside, I will not accept the nomination. I will step aside and I am fully endorsing Dion Pitter to be the president of the CWU.”
