Fugitive arraigned in Cayo, denied bail
Also in court today was a young man who is alleged to have put a merciless beating on an elderly resident of the twin towns.

?The way how this guy attacked this poor old man, who was working so hard for his living, so we made an all out effort to bring this man to justice. This man was guarding his place and for no reason at all he just attacked him.?

Seventeen year old Rolando Lisbey showed no emotion as he was handcuffed and taken over to San Ignacio Magistrate?s Court. Lisbey is the suspect Police caught beating eighty year old Celestino Salas on the night of May twelfth. Salas suffered numerous injuries to the face and neck and the cops believe if a mobile patrol was not in the area, Lisbey would have killed his victim.
Today, I found Salas up and walking which is a marked improvement from the last time I visited him at his home. The elderly man says he is grateful to be alive and is thankful to the officers who came to his rescue.

Officer in charge of San Ignacio police Gilroy Nicholas says at the time of the incident Lisbey was out on bail for a number of crimes. Today, Salas had only one wish for the man who beat him almost to death.

?Let the law do what is needed to be done so that he pays. Because I never interfered with him in any kind of way so let them charge him for everything.?
Lisbey was charged with attempted murder and robbery. Salas? money, a pen knife and chain was stolen during the attack.

?Well I am not feeling so proper. I feel a bit broken up. I have pain in my back and my head.?
Lisbey says his family has advised him to stay home which he has agreed to do but admits after working hard for all his life it will be a challenge to just sit around and rest.

Rolando Lisbey, who was apprehended at the Belize Mexico Border, was denied bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court on July fourth.
