Broadcasting auth. chair quits as Cabinet defers policy
And in an item relating to our own industry, we note with regret the decision of Broadcasting Authority chairperson Silvana Woods to resign from her post. The veteran media worker’s departure comes on the heels of Cabinet’s decision to defer action on a new broadcasting policy that Woods and her board have been working on for the last two years. Although the proposed policy was not universally popular with radio, t.v. and cable broadcasters its formulation was done transparently, with ample consolation and created with the best interests of the public in mind.
