Ministry of Immigration meets with N.T.U.C.B. and Social Partners

This afternoon at two-thirty, senior officials of the Ministry of Immigration met with members of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize and social partners. The meeting was held in Belmopan at the brand new government office of Minister Godwin Hulse. News Five didn’t get to speak to Minister Hulse while we were there, and C.E.O. in the Ministry Candelaria Saldivar would not offer us any comment. But we understand that on the table for discussions are the new measures and systems being proposed at the Immigration Department in respect of an oversight committee for the nationality and passport process. Also on the table, we were told, would be the current batch of transfers of public officers, and other staff movements which should happen sooner rather than later.
