Two lucky to be alive following road accident
Seventy-two year old Fabian Rivero and forty-nine year old Michael Gordon are lucky to be alive after the vehicle they were travelling in was extensively damaged after it crashed into a truck carrying twenty head of cattle. The men were travelling towards Belize City when upon reaching mile twenty-eight on the Western Highway they lost control of their Mitsubishi Montero and crashed into the truck that was travelling in the opposite direction. According to the truck’s driver, Fernando Quib, as he was approaching the area he noticed the smaller vehicle drifting into his lane. Quib says he tried his best to avoid the crash but before he knew it both vehicles had made contact. Rivero and Gordon received injuries but are said to be in stable condition. As for the cows, Quib says as soon as his vehicle flipped on its side the startled animals jumped out and took bush … that is all except for one.
