2 cashiers from Brodies are suspected of forgery and theft
A pair of cashiers employed at James Brodie and Company Ltd. on the Phillip Goldson Highway remains in police custody tonight pending charges of theft and forgery. On Tuesday, the company’s financial controller officer reported to police that a check of their records brought to light a number of phony receipts that had been used at the store recently. According to the comptroller, sometime between October twenty-first and November eleventh an estimated twenty thousand Belize dollars had been embezzled from the company. An assortment of items, including sheets, curtains and other articles has been recovered from the accused employees. A police investigation into the alleged misappropriation continues.
