19 year old woman found guilty of burglary
Today nineteen year old Kristen Dominguez was found guilty of burglary after Magistrate Clive Lino heard testimony from the victim, Dinora Guzman and also from Dominguez’s witness. According to Guzman, she and her family, who lived in Ladyville, had left their home on November thirtieth, 2012 en route to Merida, Cancun, Mexico, to take their father for treatment. When she arrived home on December eleventh, 2012, she realized her house had been burglarized. Dominquez was still in the house, and Guzman tried to lock her inside until Police arrived on the scene. Guzman testified that Dominguez managed to run through the door. Dominguez’s witness told the court that Dominguez was staying at her house during the critical dates because she was pregnant and her common law husband was not with her at the time. Magistrate Lino did not believe Dominguez’s story and found her guilty of the crime and fined her three thousand dollars, one thousand of which had to be paid forthwith. Dominguez was unable to pay her fine and must spend one year in prison. The balance of the fine is to be paid by January fourteenth, 2014, or in default she will spend another two years in prison.
