Man found guilty of the aggravated assault of a minor
Two years ago, a seven year-old child was the victim of sexual assault by a man, who at the time was twenty-eight years old. That man is now thirty years old and he will be spending time before bars for the crime. A nine member jury of three male and six women deliberated for one hour and twelve minutes and unanimously found Curl Gordon Junior, found guilty of one count of aggravated assault of an indecent nature upon the child. The incident happened on October second, 2011. The child, who is now nine years old, testified “en camera” on Wednesday telling the court that Gordon had touched her inappropriately between her legs. Gordon also took the stand; he was unrepresented and called no witnesses. In his defence, he told the court that he didn’t do it, but the jury thought otherwise. Sentencing for Gordon Jr., has been deferred until next week Friday, before Justice Adolph Lucas of the Supreme Court.
