David McKoy laid to rest
Official funeral services were held on Tuesday to celebrate the life of the late David McKoy. Following mass at the Epworth Methodist Church in Dangriga, McKoy’s body was transported to Independence Hill in the capital. From there, Prime Minister Said Musa and members of Cabinet walked with relatives to the Belmopan cemetery for interment. McKoy’s career of public service began with his work as a trade unionist. In 1957 he entered politics and was elected area representative for the Stann Creek district. Over the course of his career McKoy served as minister responsible for various portfolios including labour, social development and local government until his retirement in 1989. McKoy was predeceased by his wife and leaves behind twelve children to mourn his passing.
