New director to head Financial Intelligence Unit
The Financial Intelligence Unit has a new Director. She is Geraldine Davis. Davis, who currently serves as special coordinator for the implementation of the General Sales Tax, has held several top posts in Government’s financial hierarchy, including Commissioner of Income Tax and Commissioner of Inland Revenue, where she earned a reputation as a tough but fair administrator of the nation’s tax laws. The task of the F.I.U. is to combat financial crimes, including the growing prevalence of money laundering and various types of fraud. Davis replaces Keith Arnold.
