Tip leads to weapons discovery on Mahogany St.
In more police news, cops are attributing good community relations to major weapons find on the southside of the city. Before dawn on Wednesday, acting on a tip, members of the Central Intelligence Unit descended on an abandoned lot on Mahogany Street and uncovered four high powered guns and more than twenty-five rounds of matching ammunition. The cache includes a Smith and Wesson thirty-eight revolver, a Browning nine millimetre handgun, a Smith and Wesson nine millimetre and a pump action twelve gauge shotgun. The ammunition is listed as five twelve gauge cartridges, six hollow point thirty-eight rounds and nineteen nine millimetre bullets. No one was found in the area at the time of the weapons seizure.
