Tonight Orange Walk police continue to investigate what appears to be a crime of extreme passion, that has left a local businessman dead and his female companion clinging to life. According to the police, around ten thirty last night, an anonymous tip led them to a popular rendezvous for lovers known as Catt’s Place. There police made a gruesome discovery: the bodies of a man and woman, both suffering from numerous stab wounds. The bleeding victims were rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital and later identified as Paul Gonzalez and Ruby Turner Mendez. Doctors pronounced Gonzalez dead on arrival but Turner is tonight listed in serious but stable condition. Police say they believe that the couple were attacked by a woman identified as thirty-five year old Kimberly Brannon. Brannon has since been charged with murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. As for a motive, it is believed that Gonzalez and Brannon had once been in a romantic relationship leading police to suspect that her actions last night may have been the result of a jealous rage.
