Rock concert to celebrate Legacy Rock Band 10th Anniversary

A mega rock concert will be held this weekend in Orange Walk Town. It’s a celebration of the tenth anniversary of Legacy Rock Band in Sugar City. While the original group is not together, the band remains strong. On Saturday night starting at eight, hundreds will gather at the open space near the marketplace behind the Orange Walk Town Hall for a free night of rock and roll. Guitarist and Vocalist of Legacy Rock Band, Elito Urbina, spoke to News Five about the family show.

“We have children coming out and the golden folks coming out and listening to us also and all in between. So it is really family oriented music that we bring out.”

“Is it limited to only your original pieces or will it include some favorites from other artists?”

“We don’t do any original music when it comes to the rock; we are a cover band because that is what the fans want to hear. So we sound off our fans from time to time and we try to please them. So because of the ten years celebration, we will be playing the favorites that have made us popular over the ten years.”

“What keeps your band going for ten years?”

Elito Urbina

“Well of course that is the admiration, the love and support of our fans because we can’t play to ourselves; it has to be to our audience. They are the ones who push us to keep going and to go higher.”

“This rock concert will be held on Saturday; give us some of the details on that.”

Elito Urbina

“We have it built for eight o’clock to get the night going. The actual show itself will begin no later than nine o’clock. It’s like a three part show that we are having because of the magnitude; it’s a ten-year celebration so we want to do something as big as we can afford. So we are having a human musical timeline of all the past musicians that have played with us. So we will begin with the original Legacy when we formed ten years ago.”

The event starts at eight p.m. on Saturday.
