Stabbing in Orange Walk leaves 2 men hospitalized
Christmas Day is a time for cheer and goodwill, but it’s also a time of excessive alcohol consumption by many. Frequently, that alcohol consumption leads to altercations and bloodshed. That’s exactly what happened in Orange Walk Town on Wednesday. Police were summoned to the emergency ward of the Northern Regional Hospital at around ten-thirty. There they found twenty-eight year old Enrique Ocampo from Carmelita with stab wounds to the left side of his back. Also in the ward was Guatemalan laborer twenty-two year old Minor Jordan, with a large cut wound on his left arm. Preliminary investigations reveal that earlier that night Jordan was socializing at a friend’s house when he was approached by Ocampo who chopped him. Ocampo then tried to leave the scene, but got into an altercation with another man who stabbed him with a knife. Ocampo is still at the Northern Regional Hospital, while Jordan has been transported to the K.H.M.H. for further treatment.
