C.B.C. employee accused of stealing $10,000
An employee of Channel Broadcasting Company was today arraigned in Magistrate Court, accused of stealing ten thousand dollars from his employer. Thirty nine year old Joseph Garcia pled not guilty to theft and was granted bail in the sum of four thousand dollars. Garcia was arrested after C.B.C. manager Marie Munoz reported to police that a check of receipt books revealed that while customers had been issued receipts for payments, there was some ten thousand three hundred and ninety three dollars missing from the company’s accounts. Munoz says when she questioned Garcia, he told her that he had given subscribers receipts before actually collecting money from them. The company ordered him to bring in the cash but Garcia disappeared. This morning, the accused was detained by police and brought to court.
