Manhunt continues in San Ignacio: Kevin manzanero and Alex Reid still at large

Kevin Manzanero & Alex Reid

San Ignacio resident Fredy Lopez was brutally gunned down in front of his family on Christmas Eve, as he walked his daughter-in-law home. That sparked a massive manhunt by Police for Kevin Manzanero and Alex Reid. Authorities believe that Manzanero and Reid are responsible not only for the murder of Lopez, but for a spate of armed robberies committed in December. Those men remain at large, but there is word that at least one of them is considering turning himself into Police. Today, Second in Command of the San Ignacio Police Formation, Inspector Reymundo Reyes told News Five that they will keep up the pressure for as long as it takes to get Manzanero and Reid behind bars.

Insp. Reymundo Reyes, Deputy O.C., San Ignacio Police Formation

“Presently both persons are still at large. Kevin Manzanero specifically is the person who has been sighted maybe on two different occasions. But by the time we respond…he is a person who moves from one point to the next point. He does not stay at a stable area. Family members have agreed to have contact with him and try convinced him for him to hand over himself to police. But to this, he has not contacted his brother or father or any other relative to say whether he is willing to hand over himself to the police. So he is still on the run.”

“Could you tell us where his family lives?”

Insp. Reymundo Reyes

Reymundo Reyes

“He has family both in the Bullet Tree Village and here in San Ignacio.”

Mike Rudon

“So police believe at this time that both he and Mister Reid are still in the area?”

Insp. Reymundo Reyes

“Umm…we have had no sight of Alex Reid, so at this moment, we cannot say that if he is in town or not. But Kevin Manzanero apparently is still in the area.  What happen is that after several operations conducted by San Ignacio Police in different areas of the town and surrounding villages, it appears that they keep on moving. And we are closing that proximity and that gap. So information is that the young man wants to hand over himself, but it appears that he still hasn’t made up his mind to do so.”

Mike Rudon

“And until he does, the manhunt will continue…”

Insp. Reymundo Reyes

“Will continue.”

Both men, Kevin Manzanero and Alex Reid, are considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the nearest Police Station.
