Dickie Bradley’s son shot by cop
In crime news, the son of well known Belize City attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley was shot on Saturday. According to Bradley, his son, thirty year old Adrian, was hanging out with friends on Wagner’s Lane near their former residence. Three officers on patrol in the area smelled marijuana wafting in the air and proceeded to check the youths who were lounging on a bench. One of the officers was aggressive and pushed Adrian to the ground. Supposedly the youth bit the officer, who in turn shot him on the left calf, causing a flesh wound. That accounts has a few minor differences with the official police report which says that Adrian threw a small object on the street and resisted being searched by the officers. Police say Adrian allegedly pushed one of the officers and swung a knife that cut the officer on his left forearm. The officers then showed unheard of restraint and ordered Adrian to relax. But he resisted and that is what caused one of the officer to shoot him on the foot with his police issued nine millimeter pistol. Adrian has been detained pending charges.
