Jovanni Tillett charged with Attempted Murder

Story PictureThere are two stories from the courts to report tonight. And in the first case, police detained one man over the weekend in connection with the stabbing of Clayburn Pascasio. Twenty-one year old Jovanni Tillett, of the St Martin de Porres area, was taken to court today and charged with the Attempted Murder of Pascasio. Last Thursday night, shortly after eleven o’clock, twenty-three year old Pascasio was stabbed to the upper right side of the abdomen. He was along with Tillett and another friend at the corner of Lacroix and Mahogany Streets. Tillett reportedly left the scene following an argument and later returned with a knife which he allegedly used to stab Pascasio. Pascasio is listed in stable condition at the K.H.M.H. Tillett appeared before Senior Magistrate, Dorothy Flowers and was additionally charged with Deadly Means of Harm and Dangerous Harm. He was unrepresented and remanded to the Hattieville Prison until September four, his next court appearance. Court records show that Tillett has one previous conviction for Handling Stolen Goods which goes back to October thirty-first, 2002 when he pleaded not guilty and was fined one thousand dollars.
