Lack of witness cooperation a setback in solving murder of Derrick Parham

The Williams and Carr murders are examples of an upsurge in urban gun violence since the beginning of the year. As it relates to another murder, that of Derrick Parham, there has been no movement by the police as it relates to arrests. Twenty-five year old Parham was shot in the presence of his aunt and friends just a stone’s throw from his house on Curassow Street on January twelfth.  A gunman drove up to him from behind in a red car and carried out the execution. According to Assistant Superintendent Anderson, while a suspect has been named, witness cooperation in the investigation is a setback for the resolution of the case.

“Since the death of Mister Derrick Parham as well the investigators have done a great deal of investigative work. There has been some particular development in relation to that investigation. Because a suspect has been named, however there is still some challenges that we need to go through in terms of getting full cooperation from the witness in terms of that investigation.”

“Anything as to the red car? Has it been located or anything of that sort?”

“That particular information has been explored. At this point in time we haven’t been able to locate that particular car but the investigation still continues and we are still trying our best as to try and locate that particular vehicle that was that was mentioned.”
