Three charged for Cayo murder
The full moon may have lent a magic quality to the night enveloping the hills of Cayo but for one resident of Santa Elena, Thursday’s moonlight foreshadowed only death. This morning I travelled west to unravel the details of a murder that appears to be the result of jealousy.

Police investigations have led them to strongly believe that thirty-two year old Albert Wade was killed by his brother-in-law, twenty-two year old Linsbert Bahadur; his wife?s former husband thirty-one year old Samuel Neal Junior; and eighteen year old Bejamin Peters. Loraine Wade says on that night her brother called her husband to meet him on a seldom used farm road in the Cayo district. Wade says the conversation was apparently overheard by a cousin. It is that phone call the family believes led police to all three suspects.
Lorraine Wade, Wife of the Deceased
?I was sure that it was my brother that he was talking to. And they gave him directions to get where he was supposed to go pick him. And I think even if he wanted to change his mind he felt compelled because he get called and called and called to come there, so he felt like he was needed there and it was my brother, so he trusted him.?
Sometime after midnight on Good Friday, Wade apparently headed out to the rendezvous point off the Chial Road between a San Ignacio and Benque Viejo. The family believe he had left to pick up his brother-in-law, whom they believe may have been stranded and needed a ride. Some nine hours later, Wade was found inside his maroon Toyota slumped over the steering wheel with a gunshot wound to the left side of the face.
Today, Wade?s wife says she believes he was killed because her ex-husband was jealous over the close relationship she and their eight year old daughter had with Wade.
Lorraine Wade
?He took care of her as his own daughter. He never one day told her she was not his. He told everybody he ever met that this was his daughter. I just think it was jealousy and anger and everything built up inside them that led to his death.?
Police however would not comment on a motive. Bahadur, Peters, and Neal have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Sources close to the case tell News Five that among the evidence police have recovered is the murder weapon, a twelve gauge pump action shotgun, allegedly found at Neal?s residence and Bahadur?s cell phone that shows the last call he allegedly made to Wade. In addition, the family says Bahadur has since confessed to a relative about what happened.
Lorraine Wade
?We were everything to him; he was everything to us. The hardest thing in the world to do and I don?t know, everybody tells me that I?m going to find the strength somehow, but I just pray that I do because I do need a lot of strength, because my children needs me.?
Wade says shortly after her brother was arrested, she went to see him.
Lorraine Wade
?He had the heart to ask for me. It took everything out of me to go see him, because I couldn?t believe he could take everything from me and yet want to see me.?
?He never apologised, he never did. And it wouldn?t mean anything to me if he did either way, so. His only question to me was if I hated him, and I told him, I said, I don?t even expect to be asked a question like that.?
Police say Wade was no stranger to them and at the time of his death he had been charged with kidnapping and robbery. Today the family denied those charges.
Lorraine Wade
?He went to court, he got bail for this. I don?t want people to believe that he was this horrible person that deserved the death that he got, because that?s not who he was. That?s not who my husband was, he was the sweetest husband you could ever ask for and the best father in the world. I just want everybody to know that that?s not the cold person that he was.?
Wade says she only has one wish for her husband?s killers.
Lorraine Wade
?I would have rather heard that it was a stranger, much less people that I know. I don?t even know what?I think they need the death penalty all three of them. It doesn?t matter to me who pulled the trigger.?
San Ignacio Police say they have additionally charged Linsbert Bahadur and Benjamin Peters in the pre Easter hold up of businessman Jie Li Chen. Authorities say around eight fifteen last Wednesday the duo, armed with a shotgun and wearing masks and dressed in camouflage outfits, entered Tom’s superstore and robbed the proprietor of an undetermined amount of cash and BTL phone cards. The robbers then fled but not before firing two shots which caused damaged to an ice cooler inside the store and a car that was parked on the street. Police have since recovered clothing believed to have been used during the crime, seventeen BTL phone cards and the weapon. They believe the shotgun is the same one used to kill Albert Wade.
