Sixty-nine year old charged for rape of twelve year old

Belize City police have arrested and charged a sixty-nine year old man for having sex with and taking pornographic pictures of a twelve year old girl. This morning Henry Stein was handcuffed and taken over to Magistrate’s Court where he was arraigned on two counts of trafficking in persons, and one count each of carnal knowledge, aggravated assault, and obstruction. According to Head of the Crimes Investigation Branch, A.S.P. Chester Williams, Stein was charged following a report made by the victim and her mother. Subsequent investigations led authorities to a house on Raccoon Street where the police found evidence that they say support the minor’s story.

?We received a complaint from a twelve year old along with her mother who complained that over a period of time the little girl has been going to Mr. Stein?s residence and he had been giving her money and taking nude photographs of her. As a result of that the police responded, we conducted a search at Mr. Stein?s residence. The search resulted in the discovery computer equipments, including some nude photographs of the twelve year old, which were taken on two different occasions. And according to the girl, on one day Mr. Stein had sexual intercourse with her.?

The alleged incidents between Stein and the minor are said to have taken place over the last month. We are told that investigations are underway to determine whether Stein may have had similar contact with other minors. According to court reports, Stein is a naturalised Belizean from Germany. In court today, Stein was granted bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars and ordered to surrender his travel documents. The case was adjourned until May twelfth.
