Banks Holdings Representatives in Belize to discuss proposal
A pair of executives from the board of directors of Banks Holdings, the Barbados-based firm with minority shares in CPBL arrived in Belize this morning. Chairman Anthony King, accompanied by C.E.O. Richard Cozier, disembarked an American Airlines flight shortly before midday to meet with Prime Minister Barrow. While the men declined an interview, we asked King about the possibility of a buyout of the company’s shares by the Citrus Growers Association. King says that the BHL Group has always remained open to the prospect of an acquisition by CGA, despite maintaining veto power over the beleaguered subsidiary. When asked about the fate of Dr. Henry Canton as chief executive officer, King told News Five that Canton was already at the helm of CPBL when they invested in the company several years ago. News Five will continue to follow this developing story.
