As we mentioned earlier in this newscast, Belizean footballer Deon McCauley has signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Silverbacks, where he will be playing in the North American Professional League during the upcoming season.  For many who have followed McCauley’s illustrious career, his path to football stardom has been turbulent at times.  The young athlete set out to Greece in 2013, following the Gold Cup tournament in the United States, to attend tryouts for a Greek team.  Despite being scouted his trip was unsuccessful.  But that was then and McCauley has since taken professional strides in the right direction.  Tonight we look at a profile of Deon McCauley which was first aired during last year’s Gold Cup tournament.
