Cayo road accident victim succumbs to injuries

On last night’s newscast we reported on a young Cayo woman who was gravely injured in a traffic accident. Tonight we regret to announce that Marleni Montero has died. She passed away around five thirty this morning at the K.H.M.H. Montero was a passenger in a car driven by police officer Sherward Lawrence that ran off the Western Highway last Wednesday night. Montero’s family believes that Lawrence had been drinking and driving erratically and should come forward to take some responsibility for his actions. No charges have yet been filed against Lawrence but in view of Montero’s death, they are expected to be levied following a completion of the police investigation.
