Burglar sentenced to seven years in prison.

A Belize City man has been sentenced to seven years in Hattieville Prison. Today twenty-seven year old Omar Nicholas appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord, where he was found guilty of aggravated burglary and given his jail time. The charge arose from an incident on December fifth, 2005. According to Nicholas’s ex common-law wife, Vaceli Simpson, she was asleep at her home on Pelican Street when she was suddenly awakened by a noise. When Simpson turned on the light, there was Nicholas in her bedroom with a knife in his hand. He pointed the weapon at Simpson’s chest and told her that if he finds out she has another man he will scar her face. Nicholas then walked out the house, leaving the knife behind. During his trial, Nicholas admitted to entering the house through a window.
