Ryan “Lippo” Alvarez charged for pulling gun on his uncle
Tonight, Ryan Alvarez, a resident of Supal Street, is on remand after he was accused of pulling a gun on his own uncle. This morning, Ryan, who was unrepresented, appeared in the courtroom of Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith where he was read a single charge of aggravated assault upon forty-nine year old Dwight Alvarez. In court, Ryan pleaded not guilty to the charge; he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until April twenty-eight. Dwight told police that he and his other nephew, Ryan’s brother, was involved in a dispute, when Ryan intervened and told his uncle that no one will chance his brother. According to Dwight, that’s when Ryan went behind the yard and returned with a nine millimeter pistol and pointed it at him. Fearing for his life, the uncle said he walked away and reported the matter to the police. Ryan, aka Lippo, is no stranger to the court where he has several cases pending, including an alleged rape in which he and another man were charged jointly in 2013. He was recently granted bail through the lower court after ninety days on remand.
