4×4 contest raises funds for sick kids
For the second consecutive year Old Belize at mile five on the Western Highway invites you to another 4×4 mud track competition. Last year’s competition started off with nine registered entries but by the end of the day a total of seventeen vehicles had ploughed through the rough terrain. This time around organizer Francis Woods is hoping to double the amount of participants and in turn fatten the prize money, which will total fifty percent of the registration fees, which stand at one hundred dollars each. More importantly, the balance of the proceeds will go towards helping children who are in need of life saving surgery.
Francis Woods, Organizer, 4×4 Mud Track Competition
?The guys had a lot of fun last year and it certainly increased their skills on four wheel driving. We made a unique pit this time, a little different from the last one, so it doesn?t get too boring, so it should really be fun and it should be competitive again. …We?ll have a time trial through a mud pit and a hill. And as an extra feature we will have a big tug a war contest for the big trucks out there.?
?One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the Gift of Life programme and that is truly a good programme to spend money on.?
Jacqueline Woods
?I know somebody like you would know just how important a programme like this is because you yourself almost lost your life in a fiery plane crash.?
Francis Woods
?That?s right. This one really is a little bit more special because it involves kids.?
