Maypen bandit sentenced to seven years
A Sandhill resident has been sentenced to seven years in jail. This morning twenty-year old Tyrone Davis pled guilty to aggravated burglary in the courtroom of Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord. Upon hearing that the maximum sentence for the charge is twenty years, Davis’s older brother begged the judge to go easy him. Taking the plea into consideration, Chief Magistrate Lord then chose the minimum time of seven years for Davis to spend behind bars. The sentence is to run concurrent with a ten month stint that Davis is presently serving for escape. The charges against Davis stem from an incident on September fourteenth, 2005. Winston Gordon reported to police that on that day Davis and another man came to his house in Maypen Village. Davis placed a knife at Gordon’s neck, and once inside his house, stole a cell phone, a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.
