Suspect charged in shooting of Kareem Wright
A Belize City man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred last month. This afternoon twenty-one year old Lionel Neal was arraigned for the attempted murder, attempted robbery and dangerous harm of Kareem Wright on February eighteenth. As the offences are indictable, bail was denied and Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord remanded Neal to Hattieville Prison until April twelfth. According to police prosecutors, Wright has positively identified Neal as the man who shot him three times in the lower back and once in the arm while he was in the area of Amara Avenue and Dean Street. It is further alleged that during the incident, Neal tried to steal his victim’s gold chain.
