Parent pleads to father for return of child
Parents kidnapping their own children is not all that uncommon, particularly in an environment so full of broken families. But a case of child snatching brought to our attention today carries an added sense of urgency. News Five’s Jacqueline Woods reports.
Rose Williams, Mother of Missing Boy
?Alex, all I am asking right now, I need my son and I want you to bring him back to me.?
Jacqueline Woods, Reporting
Tonight forty-one year old Rose Williams is appealing to Lexy Dickson Senior, a Honduran national, to return their eleven year old son Lexy, Junior after she claims he kidnapped the boy, who was under her legal custody. According to Williams, on Monday Dickson went to the Sister Clara Muhammed School on Central American Boulevard where he was allowed to take the child from class. Since then she has not heard from him. Williams strongly believes Dickson, who is in the company of three of his younger boys from another relationship, is on his way to Honduras.

?The principal told me that Alex went over there and told her that he want mi he ker ah to the doctor. He gone to the vice principal and tell the vice principal that he want to go over the street from the Muslim school to the phone booth to get a phone call to the grandmother. The vice principal say they noh see ah since. Whole ah last night I couldn?t even sleep because all I di wonder is weh part my son could be right now.?
Today when News Five visited the school we were told the only reason the boy was allowed to leave the school building was because the father says he was not feeling well and the child needed to see a doctor. The school also stated that because Lexy Junior did at one time live with the father and he appeared to be happy in his presence, they did not suspect that there was a problem. Furthermore, the school stated that at no time did the mother give them any indication that the father should not take the child from school.

?I noh believe that he will bring harm to ah, but I just want ah back home because I noh know how he wah take ah without papers or nothing. He noh have no kinda paper for ah, so I noh see how he wah ker ah. So all I want he do is bring him back. The next three that he has with him, those three dah Honduran because they born over there. But my one dah Belizean, he has no right and no papers for him.?
?The teachers they had my complaint already and the thing is the teacher said, it?s the way how he came yesterday, approached them. They were so concerned about him and that is the reason why they sent him too.?
Today when News Five visited the place where Dickson lived there was no one at number eleven Jane Usher Boulevard. Neighbors did tell us that only recently Dickson had sold the property for one thousand dollars and said he would be going to Honduras. It was only today that Williams alerted the police. Why the delay? She says she was hoping that her son would be returned.
Rose Williams
?A guy gone by my house this morning and tell me that how the boat them weh go to Honduras only goes on Friday, which in I don?t know anything about that because I haven?t been there before.?
Jacqueline Woods
?So you believe he?s still in the country??
Rose Williams
?I believe they tell me that he could be somewhere around Dangriga side.?
Williams says Dickson Senior suffers from a medical condition that makes her even more concerned about her son?s well being. Tonight Williams sends out this appeal to her son.
Rose Williams
?Well all I want to tell Lexy is Lexy, you know what you?ve been through and you know what you?re going through if you know who is your dad. Just that I would like to tell him.?
