2 Guatemalans caught with firearms in Chiquibul

Two Guatemalan nationals were busted on Monday morning in the Chiquibul National Park. Police report that the officers of the Special Patrol Branch conducted a search on them that yielded firearms and ammunition. Twenty-one year old Jose Sub Coc of the Cah Bom, Alta Vera Paz was found in the possession of a point twenty-two rifle and live rounds, while thirty-six year old Pedro Lopez Ical of Monte Los Olivos was found in the possession of a nine millimeter pistol and live rounds of ammunition.

Both men have been charged with the offence of Kept Firearm and ammunition without a Gun License. The Guatemalans were first escorted to the Rio Blanco Observational Post and then handed over to the San Ignacio Police. They are to appear in court on Thursday.
