Defendants in Burrell Boom assault granted bail
Three men accused of having a shootout with a prominent businessman have been granted bail. This morning Kenrick Reneau, Giovanni Lauriano, and Egbert Vernon appeared before Magistrate Sharon Fraser where they met bail of five thousand dollars each and were ordered to reappear in court on April eleventh.
The men are charged jointly for attempted murder, grievous harm, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and damage to property after an incident on December sixth, 2005 in Burrell Boom. On that day, Sarkis Abou-Nehra reported to police that he was in his bedroom when the men entered his house and identified themselves as police officers. When he refused to open the door, the men started shooting. Abou-Nehra returned fire and his attackers eventually fled the scene. He suffered minor injuries to his finger and chin.
