Robber, burglar each sentenced to five years
A Ladyville man has been sentenced to twenty-five years for a string of break-ins. Today Emeterio Reyes appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where he pleaded guilty to five separate counts of burglary. As a result, he was given five individual five year sentences, but because they are to run concurrently, Reyes will only be spending five years in prison. The burglaries all occurred in Ladyville between November 2005 and February 2006.
Joining Reyes in prison will be nineteen year old Leroy Gomez, who was today found guilty of robbery. Gomez was sentenced to five years in jail by Magistrate Sharon Fraser for his role in stealing a bike from twelve year old Neville Armstrong. Also charged with Gomez for the November 2005 crime was James Elijio, who pleaded guilty last year and is currently at Hattieville prison serving his own five year term.
