Dangriga fisherman drown near Columbus Caye
A weekend fishing trip has ended in tragedy, claiming the life of a Dangriga man. On Monday, forty-five year old Edwin Coleman and two friends, Jorge Fuentes and Marvin Coleman, went fishing near Columbus Caye, about sixteen miles off the coast. According to the men, during the trip their net got caught in some rocks and Edwin decided to dive down and untangle it. When he did not resurface, his friends became worried and went in after him. They brought Edwin to the surface and rushed him to the Southern Regional Hospital, but he was dead on arrival. And while police await the results of a post-mortem, investigations have so far revealed no signs of violence on the body and they do not suspect foul play.
