6 persons busted by GSU
The Gang Suppression Unit conducted a search on Sunday at the home of a K.H.M.H. nurses’ aide where the Unit found nine millimetre ammunition and some marijuana. The home owner is forty-eight year old Bernadette Samuels who had to be hospitalized after the bust for hypertension. There were other persons at the house including two students; a seventeen year old from Wesley College and eighteen year old Godwin Neal Junior from the Nazarene High School. Others are eighteen year old Rheonna Rivero, a resident of Biscayne Village and cashier of the Tourist Village who was not at the house during the search, but was later picked up and charged. Twenty-three year old Nicholi Rhys, a resident of George Street in Belize City, who was freed of the murder of Andre Trapp, and twenty six-year-old Shane McFoy, of Euphrates Avenue in Belize City were also detained.
Five of the six persons appeared this morning before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer and were charged with one count each of Kept Ammunition without a Gun License and for Possession of a Controlled Drug. They all pleaded not guilty and due to the ammo charges no bail could be offered so the group was remanded to custody. Samuels, the home owner, was additionally charged for possession of controlled drugs for one point two grams of cannabis found near a stove and another batch of four point four grams found in the hallway. The seventeen year old was remanded to the Wagner’s Facility at the Belize Central Prison, while the other four adults were remanded to the Belize Central Prison. Samuels will be charged at a later date.
