Belmopan resident maimed while trying to break up a fight
A Belmopan resident, who stepped in to break up a fight, ended up a victim of maim. Thirty year old Leon Humes reported to the police that after he socialized with friends at the Cabana night club in the Capital, he headed to a food stall in proximity of the club, at about two o’clock on Saturday morning. But before he could even purchase the food, he noted that group of men were embroiled in a confrontation. Humes says he intervened, but one of the men punched him in the face. It did not end there for Humes, who was pounced upon and beaten up by the men. One of them reportedly threw an object which hit him in the left eye. Humes was taken for treatment to the Western Regional Hospital and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial in Belize City. Humes injuries have been classified as maim. Police are now looking for four men well-known to the law.
