Shopkeeper charged with indecent assault of student
A shopkeeper has been arraigned in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a charge of indecent assault. According to police reports, forty-five year old Mario Ayuso was arrested after an eleven year old student reported to police that he fondled her buttocks and called her “sweetheart.” The girl says she had gone into the Ayuso’s shop on First Street to buy when the incident occurred. Ayuso has been remanded to Hattieville prison until February twenty-fourth.
