He stole from his sister; gets 5 years in jail
Meanwhile, a man accused of breaking into his sister’s house and stealing electronic equipment has been sentenced to five years behind bars. On February seventeenth Rhonda Robateau reported to police that when she went into her home on Tanoomah Street she found her DVD player, stereo, tape recorder, and other personal items missing. Investigating officers soon picked up the prime suspect in the case, Robateau’s brother, Percival Arnold. Arnold confessed to the crime and even took police to the places where he had sold the stolen merchandise. When he appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord the judge told him, “I will deal with the matter very leniently. Why is it people waste their time … entering a property and turn around and help the police get back the stolen property?” Lord then dismissed the handling stolen goods charge against Arnold but sentenced him to spend the next half decade in jail for ripping off his sister.
