Talks between S.S.B. and C.W.U. end in agreement
In news from the labour front, word out of the Social Security Board in Belmopan is that talks between union reps and management ended today with an agreement of sorts. Apparently, there are three issues still under discussion: increases in fuel allowance, education loans, and cost of living adjustments for employees. A press release issued by the S.S.B. today promises that “an increased package of benefits has been negotiated and agreed on except for the three mentioned points.” The Christian Workers Union has yet to release a statement on today’s developments. The C.W.U. claims to represent ninety percent of the staff of the Social Security Board.
