Princess Hotel hit for $33,000 by lone gunman
Thirty-three thousand dollars: that’s how much a thief got away with this morning, courtesy of the Princess Hotel and Casino. According to police, around nine-thirty, two employees and a security guard were transporting the proceeds of the hotel, cinema, and restaurant weekend sales to the accounting office, when they were ambushed by a masked man carrying a shotgun. The gunman took the money bag, jumped the fence, and hopped into a waiting white Geo Prism. The car then disappeared in the direction of Baymen Avenue. This is the second time in seven months that the Princess has been hit by armed bandits for big money. Around nine a.m. on July twenty-fifth, two gunmen walked out of the main building with sixty-five thousand dollars. Arrests have been made in connection with that incident, but the case is still before the courts.
