New internet feature helps voters find polling stations
A new feature launched by the Elections and Boundaries Department now enables Belizean voters to find out which polling station they are supposed to report to on election day … via the internet. As we found out today, the process is easy enough once connected to the website at www.belize-elections.org. Simply click on “Municipal Elections 2006: Where do I vote?”. A form will then appear and you will be asked to enter your first name, last name, and date of birth. After submitting your information, the next page should tell you exactly where you are supposed to cast your ballot on March first. We have found one glitch in the system, however. That is, your name might be spelt one way on your identification card and quite differently in the system. If you are told “no matching records found”, please contact the Elections and Boundaries Department immediately so that officials can enter the correct information in the database.
