Guatemalan found dead on Belize side of border

Police in Benque Viejo and Melchor de Mencos have launched a joint investigation into the discovery of a badly decomposed body near the border on Tuesday. The corpse has been identified as thirty-one year old Guatemalan Marco Antonio Morales, a resident of Melchor. Morales was reported missing by his wife on February eleventh, and even though a post-mortem conducted on site proved inconclusive, police say they suspect foul play after noticing several marks near Morales’s neck. According to police reports, authorities have yet to determine whether Morales died in Belize or Guatemala and are asking anyone with information to please call the nearest station or the Crime Stoppers hotline.
