Habitual criminals get 7 years for burglary
Belize City musician Bobo Youth is singing the jailhouse blues tonight after he was hit with a seven year sentence for burglary. The twenty-four year old, also known as Theodore Parchue, and another man, twenty-two year old Maurice Usher, were arrested and charged after police found them inside the HL’s Burger branch on Freetown Road around three a.m. on September twenty-fifth. The accused maintained that they had only gone to urinate against a wall when they were picked up by the cops. Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord didn’t buy that story and promptly handed them identical seven year sentences. The defendants had already hit a sour note with the court having disobeyed an order to sign the register twice a week in the case of Parchue and we are told that Usher had failed to appear for the trial when it started on Monday. Bobo Youth has eighteen previous convictions, while Usher has twelve for burglary and robbery related charges.
