Mason Patnett is charged for shooting his accomplice during a robbery
Police have detained and charged twenty-seven year old Mason Patnett, who was on the run after he accidentally shot his accomplice during a robbery on Tuesday. He was picked up at around nine Thursday morning. Patnett and a minor were at the Ladyville basketball court when they approached and robbed eighteen year old Marvin Martinez of his bicycle and one hundred and fifty dollars. Sometime during this process, Patnett allegedly shot at Martinez but caught his accomplice in the chest. After getting the report Police went to the minor’s home where they found him with a gunshot wound to the chest. They transported him to the K.H.M.H. and immediately started to look for Mason Patnett, who has been in trouble with the law on numerous occasions. He didn’t elude them for long, today was taken to Magistrate’s Court where he was read charges of robbery with a firearm and conspiracy to commit robbery. Patnett was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison. He is to reappear in court on June twenty-fourth, 2014. The minor, who faces the same charges as Patnett, is still at the KHMH under Police guard.
