Armed bandits get 7 years for Pepper’s Pizza robbery

Three men have been sentenced to spend the next seven years in the comforts of Hattieville prison for their involvement in the armed robbery of Peppers Pizza last July. Twenty year old Shandon Avila, twenty-one year old Vallan Avila, eighteen year old Allan Guzman, and a fourteen year old minor were all found guilty by Magistrate Sharon Fraser during court proceedings this morning. The three adults were sentenced immediately, but the minor will have to wait until later this month to learn his fate. Until then, he will be confined to the Wagner’s Youth Facility in Hattieville Prison. All four were detained after surveillance video taken at the pizzeria showed the unmasked culprits stealing approximately four hundred and twenty dollars in cash from a closet behind the counter. Shandon Avila was the only suspect who questioned the authenticity of the tape stating categorically, “I have lots of cousins who resemble me.” One of the other defendants told Magistrate Fraser that the motive for the robbery was to get money to buy food for his girlfriend. The case was prosecuted by Jackie Willoughby.
