K.H.M.H. honours dedicated employees in special ceremony
As an institution, the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital receives its fair share of bad press, but today the hospital is making headlines as it celebrated its most valuable asset: its employees. In a special ceremony held in their honour, more than fifty staff members of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital were awarded for their outstanding years of service to health care in Belize. The event is held annually and hosted by the medical facility’s management and board of governors. Along with the praise, the afternoon activity included a free Christmas luncheon for all the staff and invited guests.
Dr. Alvaro Rosado, C.E.O., K.H.M.H.
?The people who work at this hospital slave for a year and very, very seldom are they recognize for the service that they are doing. So K.H.M.H. annually has a Christmas lunch where we recognise their contributions generally and specifically any outstanding performance. Right now behind me awards are being given to fifty-three persons who had perfect attendance for the last year. Half of those have perfect attendance for three years in a row. So we have employees that we have to recognise, and that?s what we are doing.?

?I notice as well some of those receiving certificates have been working here for twenty years, some are retirees.?
Dr. Alvaro Rosado
?We have two retirees; one worked here for twenty-seven years I believe, the other has been working for more than that. We also have other people who are being recognised for length of service.?
