No Update in Allegation of Negligence at WRH
Tonight there is little progress in the tragic death of twenty-nine year old Nolberta Sanchez. The mother of four died at the K.H.M.H. after giving birth to a healthy child and then undergoing what the family claims was a hopelessly botched hysterectomy at the Western Regional Hospital. Last week, the Ministry of Health brought in independent specialists from the K.H.M.H. to assess the actions by the doctor who performed the hysterectomy. According to Director of Health Services, Doctor Ramon Figueroa, they are still awaiting those reports before proceeding. And even then, we won’t be privy to those reports. Via text today, Fiegueroa told us that, “given possible litigation we cannot give any information on the results. The Ministry of Health will however take internal corrective and disciplinary measures if needed.”
